Next season Epsom Choral Society will celebrate its Centenary. We are a registered charity and receive no public funding. For 99 years we have played a part in the community of Epsom, bringing learning and public performances to the people of Epsom and Ewell and neighbouring areas.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have managed to continue to sing – at first using Zoom when we were not allowed to meet in person, meeting every week and making an online recording. Then, once the rules changed, we resumed meeting in person as we were able to rehearse, socially distanced, in the Covid secure St Martin’s Church in Epsom. Now, once again, we are rehearsing via Zoom but hope to resume rehearsing together in 2021.

Epsom Choral Society has 80-100 members and in normal times puts on at least four concerts each year in Epsom, London and further afield, and takes part in the Leith Hill Musical Festival in Dorking. We enjoy not only our singing, but also our social activities and an annual trip abroad and look forward to being able to do this again in 2021.

Potential new singers are welcome to come and try us out at the beginning of each term. We do not audition but do aim for high performance standards. An ability to read music is invaluable in order to learn all the music for the concerts in the time available. Rehearsal aids are available from a number of online resources.

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings. We have three 'terms' normally starting on the first Wednesday in September, the second Wednesday in January and with no break at Easter.

If you are thinking of joining us, please contact our Membership Secretary, Sally Paterson: , or see the Committee page for other contacts.
